ABOUT GER
Ger's experience lies in many areas of filmmaking including sound recording,
editing,cinematography, steadicam operating, camera operating and producing.
Previous experience has led him to use the best of equipment such as Adobe Premier Pro, final Cut Pro,Avid, Canon Xl 1, Canon xl2, Panasonic AG - DVC 200e, Aton and
Arri Alexi cameras along with various other technical equipment and camera's.
Having been involved in various productions of different scales such as Independent Films 'Jon' or 'The Forgotten Maggies' right up to high funded productions such as 'The Wednesdays' or 'Bill Bailey live from the O2'. This has enabled Ger to work with a variety of equipment and personnel which has led to an overall education in the media industry which is second to none. Ger has also had the best teacher in the industry as his father Dessie Boland has been a videographer and photographer for over thirty years.
In 2005 Ger turned his attention to a compelling issue surrounding the Magdalene
Laundries. Once 'The Forgotten Maggies' docuemntary was released in July 2009 RTE and TV3 covered the story nationally. With screenings throughout Ireland, New York and London a national campaign got underway. In July 2011 'The Forgotten Maggies' screened to an estimated 364,000 people on TG4. Magdalene Survivors Together are still seeking justice.
Apart from filming, Ger has three seasons managing soccer with Sallins Celtic under his belt and hopes to continue managing in soccer.

Documentary Title- 'The Forgotten Maggies'
Role – Co-Producer, Camera Operator, Editor, Sound Mixer.
This 52minute documentary focused on the human rights aspect of the Magdalene Laundries in Ireland and follows Magdalene Survivors quest for justice. This documentary has been screened in New York, London, around Ireland and recently on TG4 in 2011 to an estimated viewership of 364,000 people. This documentary was independently funded.

If you are in a GAA Final I would advise you to ring the opposition to get them to go 50/50 on the cost of getting your final recorded. I would also advise that the prices given in the packages may rise or fall depending on how many players want to buy DVD'S. The more DVD sales your club can generate the better for everyone involved.

1. How many Camera Operators do you use ?
That depends on the package you would like. You can hire Ger alone or Ger and Dessie.
2. How many camera's do you use ?
Ger always uses two camera's when shooting wedding video's.
3. How good is the quality of your image and sound ?
Ger uses tv broadcast quality camera's and external microphones to get great sound and images.
4. How long are your wedding DVD'S ?
Wedding Days are unique in so many ways so the length can be determined by speeches, amount of guests and your own individual needs.The average length is two hours long.
5. Do you use lights ?
W e use lights if needed. Some hotels are quite dark but most are suitable for recording without lights.
6. How long does it take before our Wedding DVD is ready?
Two weeks from your Wedding Day.

URSULA'S CHILDREN ARE REARED AND, FEELING REDUNTANT AT HOME, SHE FINDS A PART TIME JOB IN A PHARMACY. SHE IS OFTEN BEWILDERED BY THE ARRAY OF CHARACTERS SHE ENCOUNTERS AND HOW SHE IS TREATED AS AN OLDER WOMAN IN THE WORK PLACE. URSULA DOESN'T QUITE KNOW HOW TO REACT TO ALL THE ATTENTION SHE ATTRACTS BUT IT SEEMS CLEAR THAT THE SENSE OF PURPOSE SHE HOPED TO REGAIN FROM PAID EMPLOYMENT REMAINS UNREACHABLE TO HER. THIS IS A HUMOROUS ACCOUNT OF AGING AND THE CONSTANT EXISTENTIAL ABSURDITY IT THROWS UP WHICH SO OFTEN DISGUISES A PROFOUND SENSE OF LOSS AND SADNESS.
